David's classic Psalm 23 is wrapped around complete dependence in God. His claim is that God is the reason and source of supplying all of his needs. God causes him to rest at times when life gets out of control and brings nourishment and restoration for the journey of life. David also declares that when uncertainty and hard times fall that God's protection is essential for surviving. His realization that goodness and mercy follow God's children as they experience an intimate relationship with God is something we should remind ourselves daily. God is good and we are blessed.
