Don't throw things away before their time

Titus 3:5
"He saved us, not because of the good things we did, but because of HIS MERCY. He washed away our sins and gave us a new life through the Holy Spirit."

I can be incredibly wasteful. I tend to discard things well before they should be tossed out. I do this with food, things, papers, and to be honest I tend to do this with people. I have a tendency to discard relationships that are no longer convenient for me. I wonder how many relationships in my past have I thrown out before they could have made a dramatic difference in God's family? Not just for me, but for others as well. (I believe there is great value in groups of people committed to a single goal.)

I read this verse in Titus and am reminded of just how amazing my Savior really is. Though He could have tossed me out a long time ago. He not only allowed me into His life, He washed me and gave me a new life. New opportunities to soar higher, love deeper, fight fiercer. And the beauty of this is that He knows where I started and is committed to seeing the journey with me complete.
