Two things stuck out today about Genesis chapter 11.
1) vs. 4 Then they said, "come let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, SO THAT WE MAY MAKE A NAME FOR OURSELVES and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth."
One of the beautiful things about God is that He will not play second fiddle in any situation. To some, this could be interpreted as egotistical. However, when you are perfect like He is, your ego doesn't come into play because you have no fault. God has said time and again that He is everything we need to survive, and allows us ways to experience Him daily.
2) vs. 10-25.
Did you notice the decline in man's years? We go from man living 500 years to 119 years. I think this has a lot to do with the re-population of man-kind. God speaks in chpt. 6 about man's days being numbered to 120 years. I wonder what that has in common.
"Dad, please open my eyes to joy today as I experience Your creation. Let me focus on making You more known than myself."
