Genesis Thirty - Five

"So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods they had and the rings in their ears, and Jacob buried them under the oak at Shechem."
-----Genesis 35:4

There is a tendency in me to chase the illusion of gods that I think will give me fulfillment. Every time I do this I find myself still searching. That is except when I pursue my Heavenly Father. He has never left me searching for something else. What does not make sense is that I would still chase foreign 'fake' gods even today.

I love what Jacob and his family does here. They bury their foreign gods and left the area that could do them harm. This will only work if you refuse to never come back to the hole.

James 4:7-8
"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Com near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."

"Father, there is no other God but You. There is no other more beautiful."
