"Abraham replied, 'I said to myself, '
There is surely no fear of God in this place,
and they will kill me because of my wife.'"
-----Genesis 20:11
I underestimate people. Just when I think that I have people pegged a with certain attributes, I am surprised. The good news here is that apparently I am not alone. Abraham is seen here once again not trusting in God's protection as he convinces Sarah to say that she is his sister. Abimelech is warned about what is happening and the effects of it by God Himself. When asked about it Abe replies with the response that he had it all figured out and knew the outcome. The challenge here is that what he thought was certainty appeared to not be so certain.
People have the ability to grow. Just like you are not the same person you were 5 years ago. Neither are most others. My ten year high school reunion is coming up in about 2 years. It is so easy to classify people by their former actions. Some of the time this evaluation is valid. In the short term. But in the long run people may change.
Keep this in mind:
God is working on you.
He is transforming you into something greater.
You are not the only person in the world.
He may be working on them as well.
Thinking people may grow could be an option.
