1 Timothy One

"The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith."
-----1 Timothy 1:5

Paul is instructing Timothy to stay in Ephesus and protect the church from the assault of false doctrines resonating in the community. Timothy was to have conflict with these people because their actions were creating controversies leading to dissension in the church.

What I find interesting is the goal was not being right but showing love to this young church.
Paul gives us insight to where love comes from:
a pure heart,
a good conscience and
a sincere faith.

Keeping the heart clean and your mind focused on good things will open your heart to seeing more of an opportunity to helping others. A sincere faith promotes a willingness to build God's kingdom and not yours.

"Father, help me pursue love today."
