Matthew Seventeen

Jesus' transfiguration is one of my favorite lessons in the gospels. This is all about a "God Moment". Peter wants to build shelters and stay there forever. I can't blame Him. When I have found myself in my own "God Moments" my desire is for them to last forever.

What Peter and I take out of the equation is that God continually leads us into more intimate moments with Him. What is to say that the next day that Peter would not experience something far greater than this moment. In fact by the end of this gospel, Jesus will have made way for the most intimate of all relationships with Jesus. His life will pave the way for the Holy Spirit. Talk about Immanuel (God literally with us).

"Jesus, thank You for continually showing us deeper moments of intimacy in our relationship with You."
