"So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius."
-----Matthew 20:10
Have you ever played the, "It's not fair" game? These guys played it to perfection. I am a big believer in expectations and understandings. As long as the expectations are the same then the two parties have an understanding. At the point when one party would like to renegotiate an item. A new expectation and understanding must be met. This keeps the playing field level.
What the early workers forgot was what they agreed to work for was what they were paid. It is a dangerous thing when we start to compare ourselves to the way see other peoples worth. Even more dangerous when we compare ourselves to their standards. God has set the perfect standards to live by. He is just, compassionate, bold and loving.
"Jesus, help me today to remember You receive each of us with different circumstances."
