"For this reason He had to be made like His brothers in every way, in order that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that He might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted."
------Hebrews 2:18
This is one of the beautiful truths when it comes to relating to Jesus Christ as Lord of our lives. He in sympathetic to our temptation toward sin. Because He knows what it is like to suffer with the temptation. Later in Hebrews we will read that He has dealt with every kind of temptation we will face. I believe this sheds light into His dedication to His Heavenly Father.
Of course what sets Jesus apart from us is His perfection in the battle against sin. The blood of Christ defeated sin when everyone else thought it was going to have the last laugh.
Jesus fought this fight with us in mind. He can relate about your temptation when know one else can. He suffered so you can have hope. He loved so you could have freedom.
"Father, help me pursue purity for the glory of You today."
