"What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!"
-----Romans 7:24-25
It is easy to relate to Paul here. After his rant about his tendency toward suffering in the battle of sin he comes to the conclusion that he is wretched. It is easy to define yourself by your battle with sin. It is easier to stop after the first sentence of verse 24 and give up hope.
But this is where the beauty and power of God comes in play in our lives. When we feel we have lost hope and ask in desperation who will rescue us we have the same answer as Paul. "Thanks be to God--- through Jesus Christ".
Because of Jesus, we have the power to defeat the sin that so easily entangles us. The part we have to decide is being serious about relying on the hope that we have.
"Father, thank You for Jesus."
