Romans Four

"Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. However, to the man who does not work but trust God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness."
-----Romans 4:4-5

At the time of it's writing this verse was a revolutionary thought. The idea of faith in God being enough to be considered right with Him was so contrary to popular belief. Before it was a delicate balance of atonement of sin with a priest serving as a middle man in between you and God. After the death and resurrection of Christ we now have a personal relationship with God based on our belief in His promise.

Now our good deeds are in reaction to the love that we have experienced by God's great compassion. It is out of the overflow of a grateful heart that we find our desire to pursue His kingdom and His smile.

"Father, You are so compassionate with us. Thank You for Your relationship."
