"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."
-----Romans 12:12
In a list of verb filled attitudes these three sing loudest this morning:
BE JOYFUL IN HOPE--Hope is an optimistic view of the future. As we look into the scope of our future hopes and dreams Paul is encouraging us to be excited about the direction we are heading. Storms last for seasons. Then those seasons end. Let your life be steered knowing your best days are ahead of you.
PATIENT IN AFFLICTION-- When experiencing seasons of affliction remember that He who began a good work in you will not stop until you are complete. That is not to say that all discomfort you feel is because God is doing it to you. As humans we stumble into our own discomfort all on our own. But remember that like the storms of life they are temporary. Especially when views with eternity in mind.
FAITHFUL IN PRAYER--Prayer is quite possibly the greatest tool that is least used by the common believer. Being a two way street, prayer helps us know which paths to choose. Plus, it is our way to tell God how majestic He is and listen for the leadings of His Spirit.
Paul starts this section off in verse 9, "Love must be sincere". Love is the reason for all of our actions. Love given without agenda is attractive and inspiring. Love the ones God sends you to today and you will see a significant change in their lives.
"Father, help me be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer."
